Frog Guts Lab Virtual Dissection

The Frog Guts Dissection will be shown at the front of the class.  This will prepare you for frog dissection lab. It is on Adobe Flash Player, which is decomissioned so we will do it all together on my computer.  Students will be able to observe a virtual dissection of a frog in class.  Answer the questions as we go through the virtual dissection.

What I will Be Learning:

Students will learn about anatomy from observation of a virtual bullfrog dissection.  It is on Adobe Flash Player, which is decomissioned so we will do it all together on my computer.  Students will be able to observe a virtual dissection of a frog in class.

Why I will be learning this: Frogs and humans share a lot of anatomical structures and functions in common. Dissection teaches us about the 3 dimensional nature of anatomy, the delicate nature of tissue, and the lack of color that is experienced when viewing real organs, which is so different than diagrams.  This is especially important for any type of medical education EMT's, Paramedics, Police, Fire, Nurses, Docters, Medics, Dentists, and more require a first hand understanding.  This education is always begun with small invertabrates and vertebrates, and may end with a medical student dissecting a human being.

How I will Know I learned it:

I will be able to label the structures of a frog,compare this to human anatomy, and know the correct process of dissection.
