Course Syllabus
Course Description
This class is for the student who is completing required PE credit online. It is assumed that you will be actively engaged in a regular exercise program.
Classroom Management/Learning Materials
There is no textbook for this course. You are expected to be actively participating in an exercise program that you design and have approved by your instructor.
Cadet Materials
The required materials for this course include:
Exercise Attire
Equipment necessary to the type of exercise you choose to do.
Instructional Organization
In order to be successful in this course you will want to organize your time so that you have a set time every weekday that you will engage in your exercise routine. The literature is very clear on the fact that those who exercise at the same specified time every day are far more successful at adhering to their programs. There is no magic time, when one is more successful; it is a matter of personal preference but, again, it should be a time that you know you can do every day.
You are graded on four categories in this course. They are:
- Design of a legitimate exercise program based on the FITT principle.
- Daily logging of exercise.
- Quizzes
- Daily journal recording thoughts/feelings regarding progress toward exercise goal.
Make-Up Policy
If you are unable to meet a deadline you must discuss it with your instructor ahead of time. You must then abide by the plan that is set between you and your instructor.
Rules and Consequences
All UMA rules regarding viper flight apply. The UMA Cadet Guide is a great place to familiarize yourself with expectations.
